Gorgeous Pasta Shells with Brocolli and Bacon
- 375 g (12 oz) broccoli florets
- 375 g (12 oz) pasta shells
- 25 g (1 oz) pine nuts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, sliced
- 50 g (2 oz) lean bacon, diced
- salt and pepper
- freshly grated Pecorino cheese ( to serve )

- Preparation time: about 10 minutes.
- Cooking time: about 15 minutes.

Pasta Preparation Process
- Cook the broccoli in boiling water for 7-8 minutes, until just tender.
- Drain, refresh under cold running water, then drain again.
- Cook the pasta in plenty of lightly salted boiling water until just tender ( or according to packet instructions ).
- Meanwhile, heat the oil in a frying pan, add the bacon and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is lightly browned, adding the garlic towards the end.
- Add the nuts and heat until lightly toasted.
- Stir in the broccoli.
- Drain the pasta, tip into a warmed serving bowl and pour the broccoli mixture over it.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Toss quickly and serve with grated Pecorino cheese.
